Enrichment Adult / Cooking -
AE 2526 Winter Spring

Celebrate National Pi Day with your own homemade pie crust! Learn the secret to amazing crust using the 3-2-1 method. Participants will learn several methods for pie making including blind baking for cream based pies, and double crust for fruit based pies.  And don't worry! You won't go home with just crust!  Choose between Cherry or Lemon Meringue to compliment your amazing crust!

Pi Day is celebrated yearly on March 14 to celebrate the mathematical number π (pi). The day was established to celebrate the significance of pi and to promote mathematics education, encouraging schools to teach students about pi and its important role in various scientific fields, engineering, and even space exploration.

Please bring to class:

  • an apron
  • an empty pie plate if you have one (disposable tin ones will be available)
  • something to carry a hot pie home (ex: hot pads and a box).

There is a $10 material fee due at class to the instructor.
