National Root Beer Float Day

Join us for a Root Beer Float at the Senior Center.
Ages 60+ only.

National Root Beer Float Day is celebrated annually on August 6th, honoring the invention of the "Black Cow" by Frank J. Wisner in Cripple Creek, Colorado, in August 1893. Inspired by snow-capped mountains, Wisner added vanilla ice cream to root beer, a combination that became a popular summer treat.
