Author Talk: Failing to Launch-Understanding & Resolving the Young Adult Crisis

Today's young adults are struggling, and the numbers prove it. Nearly half of 18- to 29-year-olds are still living at home. Many are sitting behind screens playing video games late into the night. Of those who leave home, one in four cuts off communications with their parents at some point during their young adult years. Gen Z (14-29 year old's) are the most wired generation yet have the highest rates of loneliness (over 70%). Males in particular are falling behind in entering and completing college and entering the workforce. They are also our times more likely to experience deaths of despair- suicide, homicide, and accidents, including overdose, than females.

These challenges are more than statistics. They represent real risk factors that, left unaddressed, can have serious consequences for individuals, families, and communities.

Dr. Jack Stoltzfus will walk you through what's driving this crisis and, more importantly, what we can do about it. He'll share his proven formula for helping parents successfully launch their young adults into independent, fulfilling lives, and open the floor for questions from seniors eager to support the young people in their lives.
